Rumination Monitoring - The HR Tag™
The HR-Tag™ combines rumination, heat detection and cow identification functionality to give farmers a revolutionary tool to monitor their cows 24 hour a day.
The HR-Tag™ contains a motion sensor, microprocessor, memory and a specially tuned microphone which detects the cow's rumination time, chewing rhythm and time between feed boluses.
TheHR-tag™ also records a general activity index which quantifies all animal movement and movement intensity (walking, running, laying, standing up, head movements etc).
Tags' electronics are enclosed in a sturdy reinforced plastic shell and are powered with a long-life battery. Each HR-Tag™ is provided has an eight year lifespan and is provided with a graduated six year warrantee.
The HR-Tag™ is attached to the upper part of the cow's neck with a strap.
The strap and buckle are designed for convenient attachment and removal, enabling easy transfer of the tags among cows if needed.
The onboard CPU analyzes the vocal signals and calculates rumination time. Data is stored in two hours blocks for up to 24 hours.
Upon downloading, data can be displayed in either report or graphic format.
